There will be no chess meeting April 18th, 2024, due to the club director’s 25th wedding anniversary occurring on this date. We will resume normal operations the following week, of course.

Thanksgiving Holiday – No Chess Club Meeting
The chess club will not meet on November 23rd in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday (the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center is also closed). Please enjoy the Holiday and we’ll see you next week!
No Chess Club Meeting Tonight, April 20th!
Apologies for the short notice but I came down with a bad cold a couple days ago and am not yet well enough to make it to the club this evening (and I may still be contagious and don’t wish to expose others to this virus). This highlights the need for at least one additional person who can bring the equipment to the club and set up for casual play on those evenings when I’m unavailable, something which is very easy to do with a little help. I’ll try to round up 3-4 volunteers who are willing to cover during my absence and hopefully late cancelations such as this won’t happen again. I hope to see many of you next week (I’ll definitely be well by then)! Regards,

No Meeting This Week
The Oak Room we use in the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center was needed for a last-minute, public Transportation Commission meeting on Thursday, March 23rd, so we were forced to cancel our gathering/tournament that evening, regrettably. The Team Chess960 tournament was moved to the following week, March 30th–apologies for the inconvenience.
